Dr. Siri Terjesen Awarded Freedom and Opportunity Academic Prize from the Heritage Foundation

The Heritage Foundation recognized Dr. Siri Terjesen, Associate Dean, Research and External Relations at Florida Atlantic University College of Business as one of the inaugural 12 Freedom and Opportunity Academic Prize recipients.

"Our College takes immense pride in the achievements of Dr. Terjesen, including her recent accolade as one of the distinguished scholars honored with the Freedom and Opportunity Academic Prize," said College of Business Dean Daniel Gropper. "I am very pleased at the Heritage Foundation’s recognition of the impact of her research and teaching exploring economic freedom, corporate governance, entrepreneurship, human flourishing, and other issues related to freedom, opportunity, and American values.”

Dr. Terjesen’s research in strategy, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy ranks in the world’s top 2% most cited scholars and has been published in highly ranked journals. Dr. Terjesen is currently an associate editor of five leading journals including Academy of Management Perspectives, Small Business Economics, and an editorial review member of six other journals. Her research is published in the world’s top journals and has been featured in international media including Bloomberg, U.S. News & World Report, and CNBC. She has been PI or co-PI on $7M in research grants and gifts over her career.

• Dr. William English, assistant professor of strategy, economics, ethics, and public policy at Georgetown University
• Philip Hamburger, professor of law at Columbia Law School
• Dr. Matthew Kroenig, professor in the department of government at Georgetown University
• Dr. Allen Mendenhall, associate dean and professor at Troy University
• Robert Miller, professor and associate dean at the University of Iowa College of Law
• Dr. Catherine Pakaluk, associate professor of social research and economic thought at Catholic University of America
• Dr. James Patterson, associate professor at Ave Maria University
• Dr. Ionut Popescu, assistant professor of political science at Texas State University
• Dr. Andrew Walker, associate professor of Christian ethics and apologetics at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
• Dr. Bradford Wilcox, professor of sociology at the University of Virginia
