Research Kudos

Joel DiCicco and Richard Gendler, Instructors in the School of Accounting and their co-authors, Uliana Filatova (FAU Ph.D. student in Finance), and Teodora Minkova (Ph.D. student in the FAU School of Accounting) had their paper titled, "Level 3 Reporting Quality: Trend Analysis of Derivative Instruments’ Restatements" accepted for publication in the Business Valuation Journal - OIV. 

Maya Thevenot, Associate Professor in the School of Accounting, and co-authors Avishek Bhandari (University of Wisconsin – Whitewater), Babak Mammadov (Clemson University), and Hamid Vakilzadeh (University of Wisconsin – Whitewater), all of whom are FAU Ph.D. alumni, had their paper titled, “Corporate Culture and Financial Reporting Quality” accepted for publication in Accounting Horizons (ABS 3 and on the SOA journals list).  

Faculty Recognitions

Christopher Bourdreaux, Associate Professor in Economics, has been awarded by the Journal of Business Venturing as the Best Reviewer of 2020, an honor described as nothing less than “heroes of the field.” He has been recognized formally for incredible service, contribution and support of the Journal of Business Venturing in its commitment to developing research and scholars in the field of entrepreneurship.

Pedro Monteiro, Finance Ph.D. Candidate, was awarded the 2021 Excellence in Ph.D. Student Award in recognition of his dedication to students and excellence in teaching.

Yannick Thams, Associate Professor in Management Programs, has been selected as a recipient of an AAUW American Fellowship for the 2021-22 award year. Founded in 1881, AAUW is one of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women, due to the generosity and legacy of generations of AAUW members.
